Sat 23  ‘On the Trail of Martel’ – Caving Expedition

Marble Arch Caves Visitior Centre 12:00p.m. – 4:00pm


Come along and delve off the beaten track to explore “Real” caving deep inside the Marble Arch Caves System through, “wild” caves beyond the well-lit caverns of the showcave.  Your adventure will involve you meandering wild cave passages, climbing though boulder chambers and squeezing though our famous flyover to emerge into the Marble Arch Showcave, before returning to the boulder chambers on your way out muddy, but proud!

A certificate of achievement is awarded to everyone who successfully completes the expedition, after you have handed in your kit and washed your face and hands!  So why not come along and join Geopark staff and find out more about this fascinating environment under our feet.

All persons participating in this event must be of moderate level of fitness and reasonably agile. This event is not suitable for individuals under 18 years old and those individuals with physical disabilities. Please inform Geopark staff of any medical conditions which may impact on your ability to participate, prior to the day of this event.

It is necessary for you wear old clothes, a jumper and loose fitting trousers and wellies, since you will get quite warm and muddy!  Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  The session will begin at 2:00pm and lasts approximately 2 hours.
