Thurs 21  The Queen’s 90th Birthday Beacons

The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration Event: An Interdenominational service will be held at St.Macartin’s Cathedral at 7.30pm on Thursday 21st April, followed by the lighting of a special Beacon at 8.15pm in the church grounds, overlooking the historic town of Enniskillen, by Viscount Brookeborough, Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for County Fermanagh, accompanied by local clergy. Immediately after the lighting of the beacon, two beams of light will shine hundreds of feet into the night sky and symbolically cross over, reflecting Her Majesty’s visit to Enniskillen in 2012, when she attended a Service of Thanksgiving to mark her Golden Jubilee at St. Macartin’s Church of Ireland Cathedral and afterwards walked across the road to visit St. Michael’s Catholic Church. To mark this special occasion a full peel of bells will be rung and complimentary refreshments will be available for everyone at The Jolly Sandwich from 6pm. This community event is being organised by Enniskillen Churches in association with The Rotary Club of Enniskillen.
