Enniskillen Light Operatic presents

Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me

By Frank McGuinness

The Ardhowen, Enniskillen 8 pm

£10.00, concession £9.00

Presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Limited.

Three men, an Irishman, an Englishman and an American, chained to a wall, abused by unseen captors. This is the grim setting for Enniskillen Light Operatic’s first foray outside of musical theatre with Frank McGuiness’s 1992 play ‘Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me’.

Yet the play itself is far from grim. Based upon the experiences of those kidnapped in Beirut in the 1980’s, including Belfast man Brian Keenan, the play explores the plight of these three figures held against their will on the edge of existence.

Brian Keenan has described the play as ‘choking in its immediacy’ and that it made him ‘laugh, cry and hold himself’. An absorbing testimony to the power of the human spirit, it is by turns funny and sad, raucous and tender.
