columbanusSat 4, Sun 5  Waterways Ireland Row The Erne Columbanus Day

Cleenish Island, Bellanaleck.  An opportunity to journey as the monks did,  rowing and sailing a

33ft Manapian Curach journeying  from Bellanaleck to Cleenish to celebrate the life of Columbanus on the

1400 anniversary since his death.  At this site Columbanus was taught by Sinell in a monastic settlement in

the 6th century. We will regale the stories of life on the Island, experience how the holy men lived and hear

poetry from the great man Columbanus himself.
There are very limited places left for this event with Rows at 10am, 12noon (booked up), 2pm & 4pm so

book early to avoid disappointment. The journey will be approximately 1.5 hours.

Dress appropriately for an outdoor event and bring good walking shoes or boots.
