About the Event
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will hold two events on the evening of Wednesday 3 August 2016 to remember all those who lost their lives in or were associated with the 1916 Easter Rising.
The events will take place 8.45pm on the OASIS Plaza, Omagh and the events space at Broadmeadow, Enniskillen.
The events are planned in the spirit of remembering and commemoration and at each location will include the lighting of a beacon, music, poetry, a reading of the 1916 Proclamation of the Republic and a minute’s silence.
These events have been devised and developed by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Remembering and Commemoration Working Group. This inter-party group is made up of twelve councillors whose aim is to provide oversight and direction to Council’s delivery of and support to events, activities, projects and programmes marking the centenaries of 1916.
The events are open to the public.
