About the Event

Rayna 1

Moving on Music presents Rayna Gellert.  Renowned fiddle player Rayna Gellert and member of the acclaimed stringband Uncle Earl, take to the stage at the Strule Arts Centre.  Rayna has deep roots in American traditional music that has led to her collaborating with artists such as Sara Watkins, Abigail Washburn, Robyn Hitchcock, and Loudon Wainwright III.

She has spent most of her life immersed in the sounds of rural stringband music, heartfelt gospel songs, and old ballads.  An inimitable player, her fiddle albums are widely celebrated in the old-time music community.  In 2012 Rayna released her first vocal album ‘Old Light’ showcasing her ability to apply her unique musical background to both original and traditional songs.

Rayna will be joined on tour by Kai Welch (singer/instrumentalist) and Jamie Dick (percussionist from Rhiannon Giddens Band) and will perform a mix of traditional stringband music and original songs in what promises to be an exceptional night of old and new roots music.

Tickets: Full £13; Concession £10
