About the Event
Thurs 19, Fri 20 Borderline Players presents Play On, The Ardhowen, Enniskillen 8 pm £10
Concession £9 Borderline Players returns to The Ardhowen stage with the Rick Abbott farce, ‘Play On’. This play within a play comedy follows an amateur dramatics society as they prepare for their annual drama, suitably titled ‘Murder Most Foul’.
Act 1 is set just 3 nights before ‘Murder Most Foul’ debuts, and we are introduced to the cast of the melodrama, a dysfunctional bunch of amateur performers where tensions between members are simmering. The director is reaching his wits end as the set remains unfinished, cast members are still learning their lines, the backstage crew interrupt the rehearsals at every turn, and the novice writer makes sweeping plot changes on a daily basis.
Pandemonium ensues during Act 2 as the ‘Murder Most Foul’ cast attempt a dress-rehearsal just 24 hours before the opening night. As the play edges ever closer and a final version of the script still in development it’s anyone’s guess as to whether the show will go ahead.
Act 3 sees the opening night performance of ‘Murder Most Foul’ and with stress levels at an all time high for both the cast and crew it is safe to say that the drama won’t just go according to plan…
‘Play On’ is a lively farce featuring a well known cast and for anyone who has ever been involved in amateur dramatics it is sure to open a mixed bag of emotions.http://www.ardhowentheatre.com
