About the Event
Fri 5 Lisnaskea Historical Society Old Tyme Market Day, Corn Market Yard, Lisnaskea
10 am to 12.30 pm A day when Lisnaskea primary school pupils experience the fun of the market day
and sell the wares they bring. . Refreshments provided for children. Profits from children’s stalls are in
aid of their own school. Please support the school to make the day a memorable one for all.
Children learn about history; old ways and crafts but also learn the importance of buying and selling,
with emphasis on presentation, quality and pleasing the customer, as well as supply and demand.
Grand parents enjoy the event too and often contribute produce and recount memories of attending
markets along ago.
9.30 am – children arrive for stall setup, accompaniment of sound system music
(hall and stage available if weather inclement)
10 am – sale commences – accompanied by music and dance.
10 am – 12 Noon – ongoing demonstration/workshop of spinning, crochet and knitting by
Carol and Carla Fricker and Diana Ryan (hall available if weather unsuitable)
