Sat 20 Lough Erne Heritage Regatta for Lough Erne Cots and Rowboats, Crom Estate, Newtownbutler

A demonstration of how such racing might have taken place in the 180ss.  A commemoration of the famous cot race of 1856 will be re-enacted.  Two Lough Erne Cots each 22 feet in length have been built for this occasion.  Team of three persons may register to ‘pull’ these cots.  Rowing experience is necessary, terms and conditions will apply.  Number of entries limited. The race course will be in the waters of the old Castle.  Crew changes will take place on shore at the old castle.

12.15 pm short play telling the story behind the famous cot race.

1.30 pm registration closes, 1.50 pm briefing at the Old Castle, 2 pm first race, 4.30 pm Prize Giving in Visitor CentreLough Erne Heritage
