About the Event
|Fri 2 Ireland From A Kite, Enniskillen Library 1.30-3 pm. Free
Ciaran May of Birdseye Kite Photography has perfected the art of taking stunning photographs from 40 ft above the ground. He uses a kite to lift his digital camera and by remote control captures those breathtaking bird’s eye view images. From his base in Maguiresbridge, he travels the length and breadth of the country fulfilling commissions from national and international tourism agencies, businesses and private individuals.
Locally, he has produced unique pictures of Lough Erne and its islands and landmark sites like Castle Coole, Florencecourt House, Crom Castle and Portora. In his illustrated talk, Ciaran will trace the 130 year history of photography from a kite including its use during World War 1. He will reveal how many of our greatest writers including Beckett, Yeats and Wilde wrote about kites and, as he projects his photographs, he will share the sense of wonderment and pleasure that his art affords him. www.Flive.org.uk
