The Happy Days Beckett Festival with theatre, music, dance, talks and readings. The 2017 theatre programme will include highlight returns of Beckett’s Ohio Impromptu on Devenish Island with Adrian Dunbar’s 2015 festival production hit and also Dunbar’s riveting Catastrophe production in a new setting. New productions will include Festival Associate Netia Jones take on Beckett’s short prose piece from an abandoned work, a new work on Beckett’s Letters by director Alan Gilsenan and Beckett’s dance piece Quad with Pan Pan Theatre.

The Festival’s Beckett Schubertiade will welcome Ben Appl coming to Enniskillen to sing Schubert’s Die Winterreise and one of the fastest rising young tenors Nicky Spence singing Schubert’s Swan Song (Schwanengesang). Both artists are accompanied by pianist Julius Drake.

The Happy Days Beckett Festival also joins the return of its sister festival the Frielfest, celebrating the playwright Brian Friel, in Derry and Donegal from August 23 to 28. Both festivals are in association with Nerve Centre.
