This year’s festival programme is bringing together a prize-winning range of Irish writers, poets and novelists illustrating our rich literary heritage. On Friday Sheena Wilkinson, the popular writer of novels for young adults, will visit schools. In the evening acclaimed actor Paddy McEneaney will perform ‘Young Stephen’ based on Joyce’s ‘Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man’, followed by entertaining music.

On Saturday distinguished writers Gerard Dawe and Adrian Frazier will celebrate the legacies of writer Benedict Kiely and poet John Montague. Enniskillen based novelist Carlo Gebler, son of Edna O’Brien, will read extracts from his writing and announce the winners of the Short Story Competition. Local poet and novelist Pheme Glass will read and talk about her work. Colin Dardis, a poet originally from Omagh, will entertain as host of the festival’s inaugural Poetry Slam on Saturday evening.
