About the Event


Omagh Wheelers Cycling Club has been confirmed as promoter for the 2015 All-Ireland Cycling Championships.

Taking place from 25-28th June 2015, this suite of events represents the most prestigious single day races in the Irish cycling calendar.This suite of events will draw world class cyclists & paracyclists to Omagh town including athletes such as 2012 Paracycling World Champion & L2012 Paralympic Double Gold Medalist Mark Rohan; 2013 Track Cycling World Champion Martyn Irvine; and World Tour professionals such as Nicholas Roche, Daniel Martin, Philip Deignan and Sam Bennett who have competed in the Giro Italia and the Tour de France. The latter riders will be fighting for the honour of wearing the Irish National champion’s jersey in this year’s Tour de France.

The suite of events consist of a ‘time trial’ event for Elite/Senior men, women and Paracyclists; and ‘road races’ for Masters men, Elite/Senior women, Elite men and Espoir (U23) men.

2015 event schedule (to be confirmed)

Thursday 25th June @ 6pm – Elite men/women/Paracyclist/Tandem time trials (20-25miles)

Saturday 27th June @ 10:30am – Masters 50 men/ Masters 60 men road races (50-80miles)

Saturday 27th June @ 2pm – Elite/senior women/Masters 40 men road races (50–80miles)

Sunday 28th June @ 11am – Elite men/Espoir men road races (100-110miles)

Event information

Taking place on Thursday 25th June, the time trial event will start on the edge of Omagh town and feature a course that which will pass through local towns such as Carrickmore before finishing on the main Cookstown road near Youthsport. Cyclists will race individually, departing at intervals of 1 minute. This event will have limited disruption to Omagh town.

The road race events will take across two days: Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th June. The road race course will bisect the county town of Omagh each lap providing fantastic excitement for spectators and cycling fans. We plan to have a festival atmosphere in the town each day, entertaining visitors between each lap.
